GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
We have now walked the docks and checked all the
boats.
Let me say that the marina management is not happy
at all.
Certain policies will now be strictly
enforced. Please read to the end.
- Power to 'B' dock has been turned off. Boat
in B-3 broke loose and knocked the Fire Alarm pedestal over. There is
now exposed wires
- Boat in B-3 "Wanabe" - Three out of four dock
lines broken. Power cord ripped out of electrical pedestal
- B-17 "Skedaddle" Broken mainsheet.
Boom swinging loose.
- B-27 "Tangent" mainsail cover loose
- C-11 "Unsinkable 2" mainsail cover
loose
- D-23 Pilyanski" sail cover off
- D-26 Greenan - shredded genoa. Risk of
demasting
- D-30 "Desert Breeze" Broken spreader bracket. Mast
in danger of snapping and damaging other boats. Mast must be dropped
IMMEDIATELY.
- D-40 Broken dock line (third attempt to notify
you)
- D-41 Broken dock line
- Build Inc. Your crane has swiveled
around. Your wood pile turned out to be a dangerous pile of trajectories
and is now everywhere.
- I-3 "At Last" your fuel tanks left on the
dock is UNACCEPTABLE and MUST BE REMOVED TODAY!
- I-30 "Safari" your dock box appears to be
damaged and unlocked.
- I-34 Julian. Your shrouds have come undone
AGAIN. Your mast is in danger of snapping or falling down on another
boat (or person). Your mast must be secured PROPERLY,
IMMEDIATELY
- J-17 Santana 525 - broken dock line
- K-17 "Thalasa" your lawn chair, tied to the
piling, was swinging around. It has been placed in your
cockpit
- Whomever borrowed my red boat trailer (located in
dry storage) all your stuff you left on my trailer is now everywhere in dry
storage. Come clean it up.
- Dry storage is a wreck!!! Blue kayak, magma
cooking tray, ladders, boards, blue table (all originally located in DW-05) is
now everywhere.
- Other items in dry storage include: Adhesive can,
MEK can, boards, paint brushes, stir sticks, rags, paint trays, beer cans,
beer bottles, etc.
- The marina water is also full of crap including
someones boarding stairs.
All the above items are
dangerous trajectories that can do damage to property, boats and
people. This is unacceptable. Therefore, management
WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCING certain policies:
No objects shall be left around your boats,
trailers dock areas, etc. If anything is found laying around loose it WILL
BE REMOVED and DISPOSED OF. This includes stairs, ladders, steps paint,
gas cans, outboard motors, batteries, wood, etc.
Dock Boxes must be approved by management, located
in an approved location and MUST BE BOLTED DOWN SECURELY.
No steps, or boarding ladders will be allowed on
the docks unless approved by management and SECURELY BOLTED DOWN.
No objects will be allowed in dry storage near your
boats unless approved by management and SECURLY LASHED DOWN.
No paint cans, rags, tables or other objects will
be allowed to be stored in dry storage unless in a management approved dock box
that is SECURELY LASHED.
Dingies in the Yacht Club dingy rack must be
securely lashed (a canoe recently flew from this rack and impelled itself in the
fencing near 'E' dock.
No fuel containers will be allowed to be stored on
the docks. Too many of these end up in the lake.
If you want to keep any of the above mentioned
items, come claim them and remove them today. We have a clean-up crew
coming out tomorrow. I Promise you that this place will be very clean
tomorrow afternoon. All loose objects will be removed from the marina
tomorrow afternoon and taken to the dump.
The two boats mentioned above with the potential of
loosing your masts, please come out today and address them. Otherwise I
will have to remove them to 'L' dock where there will be less risk of damaging
others property or injuring someone.
We do realize that things happen. But much of
the above listed items should not be spread throughout the marina if they were
properly secured or disposed of.
We do not want to be harsh. We will work with
all of you on your special requests for placing objects on the docks or in
storage. Yet, we must ensure the safety of marina patrons and the safety
and security of your property and state property. With that in mind and
keeping the place clean and sightly, we will work with you.
Thank you
