GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users

 

We have issued a Hurricane Force Warning for the Great Salt Lake Marina area and a Storm Warning for the rest of Great Salt Lake for Sunday, May 15th from 6am until midnight.

Winds are forecasted to turn blustery at the Great Salt Lake Marina around 10am from the SE with gusts exceeding 50mph.  Sometime between noon and 2pm Tooele Twisters will likely develop with gusts possibly exceeding 75mph.  By 8pm the Tooele Twisters will likely subside and winds will become steadier at 30 to 50mph.  The front is forecasted to pass through around 1am Monday morning and winds will become steady from the north at 18 to 25mph.  Heavy chop to moderate seas near the marina from the southerly winds will turn into 4 to 6 foot seas from the north as the front passes over the marina.

Winds are forecasted to turn blustery from the SE on the lake around 6am and will build through the day with sustained winds reaching 25 and gusts exceeding 50mph.  Winds will clock to the south and eventually SW by late afternoon.  Seas will be large from the south with some waves 6 to 8 feet.  Waves will switch to the north and remain large through most of the night.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Sunday until 9pm.
