We got quite a few masts dropped yesterday in preparation for Crane Day. REMEMBER that your masts MUST BE DOWN to store on-site at the Great Salt Lake Marina. We will not let you store your boats in the parking lot with the masts up. It is a recipe for tipping over in the lot due to winds. Crane day starts this Thursday at 8:30am. I sent out some worst-case-scenario water level predictions back in March. Unfortunately those predictions are now realistic or a tad optimistic. The lake is already going down and we will see very shallow depths in the marina come late summer and fall. Many areas in the marina will be below 3 feet by mid summer. We just need to get boats pulled and have a successful dredging process so we can hopefully all get back in the water and take advantage of the good fall sailing conditions.
