This latest series of storms have nearly brought us where we need to be to have a net-natural or net-positive year for the lake level.

Today, the Great Salt Lake drainage snowpack has hit 123% with the all-important Bear Lake drainage hitting 117%.  I expect both those numbers to increase to 125% and 120% respectively by the end of the day.  And we will continue to see occasional storms this week with the later part of March possibly being dryer.  Our direct precipitation to the lake is also doing very well with 130% precipitation since the water year began on October 1 and 136% of normal since January 1.

These are very good signs.  But we aren’t out of the woods yet.  We need the trend to continue through March and April at least.  But there is hope.

Depths at the mouth of the marina appear to be 5 feet or just a tad more now.
