It has been almost two years since the earthquake damaged the road to the marina. In that two years we have tried to maintain road base and fill potholes while we seek FEMA money to repair the road. It has been a very long haul with countess meetings to secure funding through the FEMA grant. We are almost done now. The grant was broken down into separate elements to address ALL the damage done at the park from the quake. My understanding is that the grant is now in front of Congress for approval which is expected to happen soon. The reason for the grant having to go in front of Congress is because the amount of money involved. The damage to the road was extensive and much of the road that has not already been torn up will need to be removed and repaired. We should be able to move forward with repairs very soon. FINALLY! I am so sorry for the inconvenience it has caused all of you let alone flat tires. The process took a long time but we are almost there and can see light at the end of the tunnel. On another note, we have had another very tough water year with forecasts this spring looking dismal. I don't think there is much hope in getting the boats back in the water this year. We will try to have some socials and other activities this spring and summer though to try and keep the marina community together. Thanks Dave
