Just a few quick notices of importance.

POWER OUTAGES

Most of you may not know this but the marina has been off the Rocky Mountain Power grid for over a week now.  The power line out here has been failing for the last six weeks causing several damaging brown-outs as well as power-outages.  We have been without power for long periods of time during this period.  Rocky Mountain Power has decided to finally abandon this power line.  It is slowly failing and is too deep to service.  It used to only be four feet down but is now 16 feet down after the marina and freeway were raised to their current level in the late 1980’s.

The marina has actually been on generator power for over eight days now.  And it appears we will be on generator power for at least another week while Rocky Mountain Power runs a temporary overhead line to the marina.  At that time we will go back on the grid.  But we could still experience a few power outages during this time.  The generator proved to be quite unstable over Memorial Day weekend.  The generator has been worked on and appears to be more stable now.

When we have a power outage we have to shut down the restrooms as the sewer pumps won’t work anymore.  If we do not immediately shut them down sewage will back up through the drains in the restroom creating quite an unsafe mess. 

One of the problems we have with being on generator is that Rocky Mountain Power has brought out a very large generator that has been placed on Unsecured Dry Storage.  Rocky Mountain Power has secured the storage area and is preventing any access to it.  This means we will not be able to get anyone’s trailers out of there until the generator is offline and removed.  We appreciate your understanding during this period.

REGISTRATIONS

The rangers will be out sometime this month to inspect vessel registrations.  REMEMBER it is not enough to just register your boat.  The current stickers must also be displayed.  Please do not ask me to tell the rangers that your boat is registered but you just haven’t put the stickers on.  There is nothing I can do about this.  So please take some time in the next few days to register your boats or get the stickers on if you haven’t already done it this year.
