Happy New Year to the Great Salt Lake Community! May it be a sight better than the last one.
And what an incredible start to our snowpack! The Water Year for the Great Salt Lake Basin starts October 1st. and it was dry with only 50% of our moisture. But November (128%) and December (194%) certainly changed those losses
around.
Does this mean many of you will get to go back in the water this spring? Many of you don’t trust the trend and have expressed they are not even thinking of going in yet. Others have expressed interest in going back in even if they only
get for or five months of sailing in before having to pull back out. We will keep watching what happens. If we dredge (or when) and what happens with the snowpack through April will be the tell. January through April are the critical months. Right now
the trend is looking good with several storms lined up heading our way.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks
Dave
