All four finishers, of the six starters, are now in and snug in their slips. Two boats took DNF’s.
Official SCRATCH times are:
Empty Space (Line Honors): 12:16:35
Bodhissatva: 12:41:33
Hakuna Matata: 02:19:42
Redstripe: 02:42:00
We talked to all the skippers and crew this EARLY morning and there are some great stories. BIG waves, STRONG winds, seasickness, and a great appreciation for our inland sea.
Several of the crew members filmed parts of the race. With their cooperation we hope to post those images on www.gslmarina.com so others can experience what these sailors went through on this long standing tradition started in the 1970’s by Jack Reynolds.
I hope to be able to post corrected time finishes by Memorial Day Monday.
This was a tough race in very tough conditions. Respect is due to the following skippers and their crew:
Brad Silver and the crew of Hakuna Matata
Hank Boland and the crew of Empty Space
Tim Adams and the crew of Bodhissatva
Randy & Bob and the crew of Redstripe
Dennis Hartley and the crew of Exodus
And I’m sorry I don’t know the name of the crew of Windancer
A great end to another classic Reynold’s Cup (80 Miler)
