GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users;
MARINA MOUTH
The marina mouth is getting quite shallow. Although most of you will be able to get out all winter some of you will not. The marina mouth is about just over 5 feet deep now. The deeper draft boats are already trapped in the marina for the winter. And others are getting stuck for a short time trying to push through the mouth. This can create a dangerous situation. Please watch closely for masts not moving in the marina mouth before trying to go through the mouth. Try not to bottleneck the marina mouth.
I’m estimating that anything with a draft over 5 feet will be trapped in the marina in about another two weeks. So please enjoy the lake time while you can.
LAKE LEVEL
We are nearing the time of year when we bottom out and stop losing water. We have about six to seven more weeks of evaporation season before we bottom out around 4194.2’
RC SAILBOAT RACING
With the shorter days RC Sailboat Racing has been moved to Sundays now. The first race is this Sunday at 5:30pm. Maybe those with deeper drafts ought to think of joining us to get their sailing fix.
