GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users A new Current Water Watch report is available at www.gslmarina.com/WaterWatchReport/tabid/67/Default.aspx This report is long and in-depth but most of the news if very good. A new feature at www.gslmarina.com is the Daily Sailors Wisdom section just below the weather flag. There will be a new phrase every day of sailors wisdom as provided by Philp Plisson "Sailor's Wisdom, Day by Day" The lake trend is very encouraging too. If you look at our lake trend right now and compare it to past years, the only years that are similar, showed a significant net gain for the year. Rising Lake

GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users Currently the lake level rise is tracking very similar to 2006 which was a net gain year for the lake. 2007 and 2008 both stayed flat through January and February before climbing in March. We were wrapped up in a lengthy Search & Rescue operation that prevented me from doing a timely forecast on our gslmarina forecast this morning. Power Cords

GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users Power Cord Problems We have recently had a few power pedestals where the plug outlets have melted. This is caused by problems with shore power cords. One of the common problems is dirty metal connectors on the end of the plug. The marina environment is brutal to shore power plugs. We recommend you check your plugs. If the metal connectors are dirty use some CLR and clean them up. If there is any burned areas your cord MUST be replaced. Also, cords MUST be UL rated for marine environment and rated for 30amp. Standard extension cords will not be acceptable. Cords MUST not make contact with the water at any time. (They MUST NOT drape in the water). The maintenance crew will be checking for power cord compliance and disconnecting any questionable cords. Fuel on the Dock The maintenance crew has removed some fuel containers from the docks. These have been disposed of. We cannot allow fuel, oil, propane or other dangerous or flamable chemicals to be stored on the docks anymore. The fire at the Lake Powell marina caused an estimated five million dollars damage. State Parks is now cracking down on issues that puts marina property at risk or the safety of parks visitors at risk. Thank you Dave Shearer Harbormaster Great Salt Lake State Marina
