New Black Company short story
Set after Cranky Bitch, ine the Bonds of Valor anthology. Kindle Unlimited. Called Wet Dream Fish Story.
I tried to post about this recently, but since I included a pic of the cover, I got a reply that moderator approval was required. The approval never came, and I forgot to repost without the pic. I mention this because I know the Editor of the book, Rob Howell. Rob said that Glen suggested he would probably have another story for Rob's next anthology. It seems that the chapters for A Pitiless Rain are slowly coming together. On Sun, Mar 26, 2023, 4:28 PM Matt Cutter via glencook-fans < glencook-fans@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:

Sorry, I don’t see any notification for approval. Just a bunch of bounce notifications. There’s a 40KB maximum message size. OK, I hacked back into the mailing list admin and I’ve approved all the good held messages. There might be some ancient messages now appearing. Cheers, Katherine

On one hand, getting Pitiless Rain would be nice. On the other hand, if these Long Run short stories are chapters of Pitiless Rain, my pet theory the Pitiless Rain is a prequel to _The Black Company_ itself is shot down. Bugger. On the gripping hand, new Black Company! One-Eye and Goblin's extraordinary longevity.
Except they were old *before* this incident. And Port of Shadows has a completely different reason for The Dominator, The Lady, and the Ten being long-lived. Other wizards, like Bomaz and the Shadowmasters also show longevity. Which doesn't mean this isn't *a* method. Just that it isn't the *only* method.
Spoiler Talk S P O I L E R T A L K That doesn’t necessarily mean our favorite Company wizard didn’t gain their longevity via “jerky”. Just not the jerky featured in this story. Sent from my iPhone

If this is indeed destined to be a chapter in Pitiless Rain, I'm interested to see how it fits in the larger story. It seems too substantial to not be a thread in a larger narrative. On Wed, Apr 5, 2023 at 5:51 PM grim213 (null) via glencook-fans < glencook-fans@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:
