Check out this site http://fantasyhotlist.blogspot.com/ to view a Q&A session with Glen Cook. He confirms that he is working on A Path to Coldness of Heart, the working title for a new Dread Empire novel! This made my day, I'm so pleased to have my suspicions confirmed. Now the delay in publishing the Wrath of Kings omnibus makes sense. I can hardly wait!

Oh hell yes. Cook really does sound like he's said "Get off my lawn !" in anger at least once in his life. And he's working on one each in the Dread Empire, Garrett, Black Company and Instrumentalities series. I'm gibbering in glee. -- Veteran, Bermuda Triangle Expeditionary Force, 1993-1951
It's interesting to see how he views his work. And the interview ended with words to live by. For those who haven't clicked the links they are: *- Anything you wish to share with your fans?* Thank you. Stop taking it so damned seriously. And get out there and buy backup copies of my stuff. I have kids in college

That interview was hilarious. Some of the questions were vague and Glen showed no mercy. His interviews always remind me of what it might be like to interview one of the characters in his books: no patience for foolishness or desire to read more into things than what is there. What great news on the upcoming Black Company and Dread Empire books!! Steve
genius. comments to his interview by butt hurt folks were almost as much fun to read as the interview its self. send him questions that assume he is a failure and he will throw them back in their faces. I will buy these upcoming books just like I buy all the rest of his stuff, hardback the day it comes out and a mass market to keep on the shelf when its available. glad to know about the new black company AND the new dread empire!

I agree. The interview questions are generic--Pat uses the same ones for each and every interview he does. I think Glen just likes messing with people. I have read many interviews with him like this one. He reminds me of Jack Vance back when he did interviews. No patience for dumb or inane questions, no self promotion, and no bullshit. Hooray, Glen!
