The fact that 53 people have bothered to write Amazon reviews suggests the book is doing quite well. Glen's probably already started the next one, based on his past working methods. He's given himself almost a new set of characters around Garrett to play with, which can keep it interesting for him. I expect the next book will explore the background of why Strafa was only 15 when Kevens was born, and why she's (apparently) never been married. There's probably some weird Hill stuff that's part of this, with Hill people not wanting the past dug up, while Prince Rupert wants Garrett to look into some recent strange happenings. By the end, the two plot lines intertwine. Just my guess at what comes next in, perhaps, Fierce Platinum Nobles.

Meanwhile, Working God's Mischief has an Amazon release date of March 11, 2014. They also show a trade paperback of Sung in Blood to be released on May 6 next year. The publisher is listed as Nightshade(!), so they not be completely dead after all. It gives me hope there could be the eventual release of an omnibus of Wrath of Kings. I'm anal retentive, and want one to sit evenly on my shelf with A Cruel Wind, A Fortress in Shadow, and An Empire Unacquainted with Defeat!

The publisher consideration probably will be how well the last book sold.

I imagine he'll want to make the series a round 15, provided the publisher will buy another.

Can't wait for release dates for A Pitiless Rain, Port of Shadows, and Working the Gods Mischief.

I found WICKED BRONZE AMBITIONS reminded more of one of those Shaklespearean

Historical plays where as lot of innocent beings wind up dead; in fairness, the body

count is less than in Hamlet. That still makes for less than enjoyable reading.

I'llattempt to  omit spoilers: those who have read this tragic story will know of an early and a

much later death-like event both of which occur in one instance to a character

around whom there is a positive valence and in the other to one whose sole

flaw is that of [deleted to avoid spoiler].

I certainly hope there is sequel; WICKED BRONZE AMBITIONS IS very well written; Glen Cook

is incapable of bad writing. But I am really hoping for a sequel to WBA to take the bad taste

out of my mouth!

I can't believe we've heard the last of the Dead Man.  He's got to go out with a memorable line (if not more).

A while back I finished reading the last Garrett, P.I. book, Wicked Bronze Ambitions and I really enjoyed it as I have all the previous books. I have been reading these books since the first one came out in 1987 and I still have all the paperback copies, including the three omnibus books that includes the first nine books.

The last interview by Glen Cook indicated he had a contract for two more books (Gilded Latten Bones & Wicked Bronze Ambitions).

Unless he has signed any other contracts for more Garrett books, I think we have seen the end of the series, even though I would like to see another one to tie loose ends, especially whether the dead man will wake or not, and whether he and Strafa lives happily ever after.

If anyone out there knows anything about any other books or interviews, I would be interested to know.
