Wow, I just looked at Ken Kelly's website--it's pretty amazing. Sort of carrying the Frank Frazetta flame into the 21st century. ---- Marc Rikmenspoel <marcrik@gmail.com> wrote:
I do think Garrett and Tinnie will be married, probably in Gilded Latten Bones, which was originally to be known as Gilden Latten Lovers.
In other, slight, Glen Cook news, I contacted Ken Kelly recently. Ken did the art for Reap the East Wind and An Ill Fate Marshalling. He's long been one of my favorite artists, so I asked him if he would ever offer prints for those two paintings. He replied, asking for scans to remind him which two those were (he's done roughly 700 oil paintings in his life!). I sent him the scans, and he told me that he had found the transparency for RTEW, but that AIFM was buried in a file somewhere, and might take a long time to find. RTEW should be available on his site<http://www.kenkellyfantasyart.com/gallery.html>soon.

Glen has written great books since--notably the Instrumentalies books. The Garrett series might simply be running out of gas, although WNI and CZM were both better than ALS. Anyway, ALS was a low-water mark, for some reason--the only GC novel (excluding the Swap Academy) I've read less than twice.
I think he hit a creative low point and had to put out a Garrett book anyway. He's turned the series around since, but he's clearly almost done telling the story. Do Tinnie and Garrett live happily ever after or not ?
Well, not in a Glenn Cook novel they don't, not in the fairy tale sense.
