Glen has written great books since--notably the Instrumentalies books. The Garrett series might simply be running out of gas, although WNI and CZM were both better than ALS. Anyway, ALS was a low-water mark, for some reason--the only GC novel (excluding the Swap Academy) I've read less than twice.
I think he hit a creative low point and had to put out a Garrett book anyway. He's turned the series around since, but he's clearly almost done telling the story. Do Tinnie and Garrett live happily ever after or not ? Well, not in a Glenn Cook novel they don't, not in the fairy tale sense. -- Michael Llaneza maserati@speakeasy.net
