I hate to sound like the teacher that I am - but what's the source for this? Where was that blurb found?   And why doesn't it show up on Tor?  I want to believe, but it's been so quiet, for so long, I'm skeptical.

This is indeed excellent news.

Following up the BC RPG exchange earlier, I've built a 5E D&D conversion of the Green Ronin Black Company rules that I'm playtesting now. I will aim to release a working document to this list sometime in 2018 (via Dropbox link) in case anyone else in interested. This will be just the rules, not all the setting and background material in the sourcebook.

One thing I can promise: it is much easier to play than the previous version, especially the magic system, although duplicating the magic in the novels will be even harder.

  I
really wish I was wrong. I had gotten comfortable (since
about 2006, when Glen announced that the two new BC books
were well underway) with the idea that the story wasn't
over. But it's not looking good.

   Yup,
here's what I wrote back in April, and I just
  confirmed
