check out Tor-forge.com, Bleak Seasons, She is the Darkness, and Soldiers
Live are all available again, and at their original cover prices of $5.99
and 6.99. Water Sleeps never went out of print, and it is now avilable for
$7.99 instead of its original (and up to recently) price of $6.99.
So, those looking to read the last 4 black Company books don't have to wait
for the last two omnibuses to come out in Sptember and January. Nor do they
have to pay a fortune on the secondary market.
What's this about? I haven't a clue. I did check another favorite Tor/Forge
author of mine, Richard S. Wheeler. The site shows some of Wheeler's
extensive back catalog back in print. I'm guessing Tor cleaned out a
warehouse somewhere and found some leftover boxes of books, but that's only
a guess. Regardless, if you aren't set for these books, have at it!
I had a look at Nightshade Books' website
http://www.nightshadebooks.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=127 and it shows
that An Empire Unacquainted With Defeat has sold out of its hardcover
printing! That's exciting, and I'm guessing getting the book into Barnes &
Noble and Borders helped (I never saw A Cruel Wind or A Fortress in Shadow
in the chain stores in hardcover). I hope they bring the softcover out soon!
In the Discussion section of their site, someone asked about the sequels
omnibus. They indicated that would be ready to announce details fairly soon,
but can't do so yet.
You guys have probably by now seen the artwork for the final Black Company
omnibus, due in January

And Petty Pewter Gods is supposed to be out in reprint on August 4, but I
saw a copy Sunday at a local Barnes & Noble. That's the Glen News for now...
