Ask dad if he wants a ramp to get out of the house on his scooter (like his friend grandpa Don. But tell mom that dad isn't allowed to drive it to subway for a sandwich! They'll understand that). At least that would give him a little freedom and control. That was one thing he expressed, not being able to do what he wanted (his body) to.

Will you that are local (& your kids that drive) invite Dad along for little excursions? A trip to Harbor Freight might be too much, but a visit to Ace would be just right. And an ice cream run is always welcome! I think he'd love to get out a couple of times a week.
