After seeing Zach play with it, Dad is trying the bed! He hasn't been interested in it before. 

Then Val & I worked through several iterations of remote control improvements, because Dad found the buttons confusing. We tried colors and diagrams, and wound up with dowels and duct tape. It looks pretty strange, but does what he wants. Horizontal dowels act as toggle switches for up and down. Vertical dowels let him move both ends of the bed together. He's still inventing!

He's going to try sleeping in the bed tonight.
