FOTD 09-10-09 (Light Versus Dark [7])
FOTD -- October 09, 2009 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The FOTD is late. That's the way of it sometimes. Today's image is an evaporated one in the fractal that results when various negative portions of Z^(-1.2) and Z^(-7.5) are mixed and (1/C) is added. Due to heavier work than expected, I spent less time than usual finding the image. The short time made little difference however, as the image still rates a higher-than-average 7. The name "Light Versus Dark" refers to the donut ring of contrasting light and dark elements surrounding the nearly- obscuerd minibrot at the center. (I could just as easily named the image "Planetary Nebula".) The calculation time of 8 seconds more than 12 minutes is admittedly slow, so why not avoid all risk of impatience by visiting the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> and viewing the finished image at leisure there. Thursday started sunny here at Fractal Central, but clouds arrived in the afternoon, blocking the fractal cats' time in the sun and making them crabby. A treat of tuna settled them down and brought back their sunny dispositions. My day was averagely busy. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.
