FOTD 19-03-10 (Mandel in the Rye [7])
FOTD -- March 19, 2010 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Thursday evening I got the expected bad news from Old Fractal Central. Thomas, the only remaining original fractal cat went to meet his brother Tippy around 4pm. He never did fully get over the loss of Tippy, and if the powers that be are truly as good as the faithful believers claim, Thomas and Tippy are now chasing but never catching the birds that flit around in cat paradise. For all its speed and instant discovery, today's image, a standard scene in the classic Mandelbrot set, still rates a 7. Its location is rather deep in a star in a rather chaotic area on the northwest shore line of the main bay. I named it "Mandel in the Rye" for no reason at all. The calculation time is a lightning 23 seconds. If this is still too slow, the already-calculated image may be viewed on the FOTD web site at: <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> Absolutely perfect weather prevailed here at Fractal Central on Thursday, with crystal clear blue skies, and a temperature of 68F 21C. Due to the departure of Thomas, our day was subdued here at FC, but FL and I gave each other comfort and things were not as gloomy as they might have been. The current fractal cats seemed to sense that something was wrong. They kept coming to us with quizzical looks on their faces. But as it is said, life must go on, and the next fractal will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and search for the meaning of all this Jim Muth jamth@mindspring.com jimmuth@aol.com START PARAMETER FILE======================================= Mandel_in_the_Rye { ; time=0:00:23.42-SF5 on P4-2000 reset=2004 type=mandel passes=1 mathtolerance=0.05/1 center-mag=-0.57361890223421390/+0.458931118975250\ 50/1.11225e+010/1/-37/0 params=0/0 float=y Inside=0 maxiter=25000 inside=0 logmap=3189 periodicity=6 colors=0006oZEhbMafTVj`OnhHroAvgBp_BjSBdLB_Z`HWbIU\ cISdIQeIOgIMhIKiIGlFIjIKhKLfMNdPObRQ`TSZWTXYVV_WTb\ YRd_Pf`NibLkcKm_HgWEaSBWP8QS7OV6NY5M`5Lc4Kf3Jj1Hh3\ If5Jd7Jc9KaBL_DLZFMXHNVJNULOSNPQPPORQNTRLVRJXSIZTG\ `TEbUKtHDcU7Of18s2Aq3Cp4Eo5Gn6Hm7Jl8Lk9NiAOhBQgBSf\ CUeDVdEXcFZaG``Ha_IcZJeYKgXHjZKhWNgUQfSTeQWdNZcL`a\ Jc`Hf_EiZClYAoX8qW6pV7oU7nU8nT8mT9lS9kRAkRAjQBiQBi\ PChOCgODfNDfNEeMEdLFcLFcKGbKGaJHaJHaIHbHIcFJdEKeDL\ ZK5eCLm1al5_k8ZjBXiEWhHVhLTgOSfRReUPdXOd`MccLbfKai\ I`lH_pF`oG`nG`mH`lH`kI`jI`iJgvP`iJUYENL8G70H93HB6I\ D9IFCJHFJJIKLLKNOKPRLRULTXMV_MXbNZeN`hzzzNbkQfmSio\ UlpXorZrt`uu_so_qj_oe_m`hiRbhKWfDMh3Qe7UbBY`F`YKdW\ UhTclRmoOzsMzwJzzHzzWzkNcdQ`YTYQJoRWVTYAR_BPaCNcDL\ eEJgFIiFGkGEmHCoIAqJ8sK3uH7wKAzNKzQUzTZzWczZhzaWzS\ mzJrzIvzHzzGzzFzzEzzDzzCzzBzzAzzKzzUzzczzmzzuzzzzz\ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz } END PARAMETER FILE=========================================
