I only ever edit the cfg and ini files with Notepad, yes, and save them as their proper extensions, ANSI encoding.

There is one possibility that occurs to me.  If I last edited them under Linux, then the End Of Line coding could be incorrect (LF vs CR LF).  I'll have a look at it. I will also start zipping the Windows version files differently to see if that makes a difference in how the executable behaves. Jonathan
