########################################################## Yes, I know, I should have calculated and posted this image while Jim Muth was moving. The image reminds me of a fractal amoeba I once knew... If anyone calculates this image please email me, or post a quick message to the Fractint group or the Philofractal group. If no one ever calculates any of the images that I post I may consider not posting further images. Also, is there anyone who would like me to post a short 'cheat sheet' for how to use a parameter file with Fractint to automatically create the parameter file's image? - Hal Lane ######################### # hallane@earthlink.net # ######################### START PARAMETER FILE======================================= FOD060405zoomC_hhl { ; Hal Lane 5Apr06 20:16 P400 1024x768 ; Zoom into Jim Muth's FOD 06-04-05 ; Damiscena Korwin's leather gem ; color map, rotated & modified. reset=2004 type=formula formulafile=_pastarc.frm formulaname=mandelbrotmix4 function=ident passes=1 center-mag=-0.31443808942709240/+0.00015068177499027/44\ 22733/1/45.0000000027556197/-5.18644107522225895e-009 params=1.4142/3.1416/-1.618/2.7183/0/0 float=y maxiter=2000 inside=0 logmap=180 periodicity=10 sound=off colors=YD0fM5<3>ZG4XE3WC3000<4>000<3>000LA0<3>dU0jZ0oc0\ uh0zm0<3>zb0z_0zX0zU0<3>`F0UC0O80H40<2>A4773A73C<3>56K4\ 7M48O39Q2AS<8>9QaASbATc<3>E`hFbiGdi<3>JklKmmJkj<7>CURBS\ OAQM<3>6GB5E86G9<9>EWHFYIGZJ<2>JdMKfNLhM<5>bmDenBhoA<3>\ ts3wt1sr2<5>Zf8Vd9SbA<3>DVF<4>CPCCNBCMA<2>BI9BH8BH8<3>A\ E79D6DE6<3>UI9YJAaLBeMCgODjQF<3>nXFoZGp`G<2>seG<15>dL4c\ K3bI2aH1`F0`F0<5>UA0T90S80R80Q70P60<3>L30K30J20I10I10<1\ 6>UB2UB2VC2<3>YE3<3>Q82O61M41<3>Q71R81S91fM5<4>jP5kQ6jP\ 6hN6 } frm:MandelbrotMix4 {; Jim Muth a=real(p1), b=imag(p1), d=real(p2), f=imag(p2), g=1/f, h=1/d, j=1/(f-b), z=(-a*b*g*h)^j, k=real(p3)+1, l=imag(p3)+100, c=fn1(pixel): z=k*((a*(z^b))+(d*(z^f)))+c, |z| < l } END PARAMETER FILE========================================= ########################################################## -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Hal, The feedback of posted images on this list is abominable. That's why I rarely post images to this list. I once belonged to another fractal list where people were constantly posting their art, and comments about postings were numerous. It was a joy to share them there. Here, it is often like tossing them into a black hole. I guess that's why so few people post their Fractint art here. I liked your image. I see a bat flying above a well-lit city at night. Lee

I usually render all PARs that get posted to the List, including yours. But this is the first one I remember having seen posted by you since October of last year. Were there some others since then that I may have missed?? And as Lee H. Skinner stated, the amount of postings has not been like it once was. The only individuals that tend to post PAR files anymore are as follows (or at least over the past 12 months): Jim Muth Guy Marson Lee H. Skinner Russell Walsmith Gerald K. Dobiasovsky Lloyd Garrick Albrecht Niekamp Hal Lane But it seems that in all of the various fractal related groups and lists available, whether by email or Internet forums, there is very little sharing of parameters anymore. Apparently there have been too many people attempting to profit in some manner by using the work of others, so they no longer participate as they once did. (Though I have not really seen anyone making a living at selling fractal imagery yet.)
