Paul and I invite you to visit the most recent issue of Manpwin dated 08/14/2018 (normally there a new issue every semester). History: Manpwin was originally a fractal site, based on Fractint`s aims and ideas: a free fractal site but then under a Windows `64 bits (Paul de Leeuw appears in Fractint`s list of contributors). During the last 5 years it was gradually increased by a ?dynamic? area incorporating Oscillators with its Attractors and Maps, and even more recently we implemented Surfaces and Knots. ?Dynamic? here has a threefold use: it?s a work-in-progress, has algorithms to move and change all these 1, 2, 3,..10D mathematical entities, and the entities in itself are mathematical models of: physical, chemical, biological, astronomical, psychological, geological, and many other temporally dependent phenomena. What was unusual from the oscillators` papers on these dynamic structures, was that we doubled the number of variables for each attractor, maps and some knots. The trick was the use of the present and past value of the variables. This changed enormously the number of attractors already seen and the connection to real world phenomena got much more complex, IF there is. Another tour-de-force that only mathematics allows, we considered that every 3 used, calculated variables, were under a different coordinates system, 14 in all. That multiplied also the number of attractors to more than 2 million. Anyway, here you can get it in the 32 and 64 bits: http://www.deleeuw.com.au/download/SetupManpWIN.exe http://www.deleeuw.com.au/download/SetupManpWIN64bit.exe Happy experiment. Paul & Marcus
Paul and I invite you to visit the most recent issue of Manpwin... Thank you!
Trying to get it... Windows Defender & Avast! anti-virus have concerns about your 64-bit setup exe... Avast! has shipped it off for scanning & will tell me if they will let me run it in 84 minutes... They say: "This file is clean"! I'm looking forward to seeing it run. The installation worked, and I ran it -- and zoomed into the M-set a bit. Nice. I exited without doing any Saves. I read your path setup instructions: https://tinyurl.com/SetupPathsUsedByManpWIN but I apparently didn't understand some assumptions you make about your path scheme. I'm having trouble editing the folder paths in the popup window containing the various paths: Menu -} Options -} Setup Folder Paths I can put the cursor in the path text windows/lines in that popup window, but I can't change/edit the existing paths. Popup window: https://tinyurl.com/DefaultPathsInMANPWIN-INI or: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/Manpwin/Default-paths-in-MANPWIN.INI.jpg In that popup window I left the default checkmark in "Use Path for User Data" and clicked "OK", but I don't see a MANPWIN.INI in the folder I installed it in: C:\Program Files\ManpWIN Note: I had changed the install directory away from the default dir: C:\Program Files (x86)\ManpWIN So, I uninstalled ManpWIN from; C:\Program Files\ManpWIN and reinstalled it in the default folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\ManpWIN I still didn't see a MANPWIN.INI in the folder I installed it in. Sniffing around, I finally found the: MANPWIN.INI file in: C:\Users\Hal\AppData\Roaming\manpWIN along with all the the folders listed in the default locations given in the Menu -} Options -} Setup Folder Paths popup window. I made a backup and edited the paths in the MANPWIN.INI file, leaving it in its installed location: C:\Users\Hal\AppData\Roaming\manpWIN I edited the paths to look like: PNGPath=C:\ManpWIN\png GIFPath=C:\ManpWIN\gif etc. When I run ManpWIN it still shows the *original* default paths: PNGPath=C:\Users\Hal\AppData\Roaming\ManpWIN\png GIFPath=C:\Users\Hal\AppData\Roaming\ManpWIN\gif etc. Also, when I looked for the paths I had entered into the MANPWIN.INI file -- they had all been changed back to the original default paths. I consider myself defeated in trying to change the paths. What do I not understand about your paths scheme, Paul, Marcus? <--< Thanks for your help in advance, - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## -----Original Message----- From: Fractint <fractint-bounces@mailman.xmission.com> On Behalf Of marcusadriana@mls.com.br Sent: Sunday, August 19, 2018 10:57 PM To: fractint@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Fractint] Invitation to Manpwin Paul and I invite you to visit the most recent issue of Manpwin dated 08/14/2018 (normally there a new issue every semester).
