Fake is what I 1st thought. A fractal is a very intricate and complex image, generated mathematically. The best tattoo artist (and some of them are very good) could not accurately do it by looking at a picture and working, certainly not from memory or imagination.

The best way would be for someone like us who is familiar with fractals to see the tattoo up close and personal and examine it for detail.
