FOTD -- August 21, 2009 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: The time has come to start sharing some of the opinions and philosophy I have been pondering for several years. So those who remember the lively discussions on the old philofractal list may soon find themselves back in the good old days. But this time nothing will be sacred, especially politics and religion, so stay tuned for some action in the days and weeks to come. If the philofractal list is still in business, I'll post the opinionated philosophy there, if not I'll find some other forum. Here is today's image. Take it or leave it. It's a scene in the fractal that results when Z^(-0.12) is combined with Z^(2) and (1/C) is added. The scene is obviously located on a filament. The coloring could be a lot better. The name "Something Somewhere" is true of all fractals. I rated the image at a 5 because I feel this is all it deserves. The colors are bad and since the image is not animated, it just sits there looking at you and doing nothing. But the calcula- tion time of 1-1/2 minutes is short enough to make it all worth while. A light midday shower just made things worse. The fractal cats are not bothered by humidity, so they suffered no discomfort. My day was busy -- enough said. The next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours.
