Jonathan, Woops, sorry, it does use the default map. I haven't encountered a par with a map reference for years. I get the error message loading such a par or selecting one with "2". What I didn't do was try to then generate the fractal which then does use the default map. I didn't think to try that, I just figured the par was already blown. Jo, Thanks for the maps, I will add them to the compilation. I also found references to maps posted by Wizzle but I couldn't find them on the web. What I did find was a reference to where they once were. So I used the Internet Wayback Machine to get the old web page out of their archive. Sure enough they also archived the zip files which they don't always do. The one thing I discovered which probably everyone else knows, that you can have pars which are nothing but color maps. If you load one it will just show the default fractal with those colors.
