44 more images on my Jan, 2014 page; Bigger text; Thumbnail images
I added links to 44 more of Jim's images (and my variations) (Jan. 18-27) Thanks for navigating to my January, 2014 page through my home page: http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html I'll try to continue putting up a few links to images I've previously calculated every other day or so -- and I'll stop posting the availability of each batch of new images. Sebastien Helie suggested that I make the names that Jim gave his FOTDs be in a bigger font on my pages, and I'm trying that out in my January, 2014 page. It helps the FOTD names stand out from the sea of text on my page. It would be nice to have thumbnail images on my pages instead of bare links, but my current graphics program can't do that for batches of images, so I'd have to create them individually. I'll try calculating some of Jim's "random fractals" he posted the parameter sets for on May 28th. - Hal Lane ######################## # hallane@earthlink.net ######################## --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Try using the FREEWARE program IrfanView: http://www.irfanview.com/ Under the menu selection of FILE => BATCH CONVERSION/RENAME... Then check the box for "Use advanced options (for bulk resize...)". You can also set a new name for the output files. Sincerely, P.N.L.

Call this another vote for IrfanView - I used it for years and years on Windows of various versions and it always did a great job. The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) has a batch processing capability that includes resizing, blurring/sharpening, renaming (and putting the output files in a separate folder) and specifying the output format. And a lot more image manipulation. On Linux, there are a lot of options for making image thumbnails. KDE's Konqueror web browser has an option to create an image gallery (complete with HTML and other such fripperies) but the end result always includes a folder of thumbnails that can be used separately. Another option is command line; the imagemagick collection of image processing programs can generate thumbnails, too. -- David W.
