I know that Fractint works with the AIW128 because it's been in this computer for a long time. I can't check what modes I'm using right now because I'd have to reboot from Linux to Windows, but I can't say I recall any particular difficulty getting it to run. The only thing that I can think of is that my 128 is one of the earlier models with the Rage 128 chip, rather than the Rage Theatre chip. I know that the two chips are substantially different as far as the TV section is concerned, and I don't think the Linux TV driver authors have cracked the Theatre chip yet, but the AIW128 isn't so new that I would've thought they would've abandoned VESA compatibility.

It is worth trying the Sci Tech Display Doctor to see if it helps. See http://www.scitechsoft.com/ Tim
