I HATE it when that happens!
As mentioned already, it is on line. Here it is in chapter format. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/fractals/program.html I recorded it. PBS tends to replay the current episode many times during the week. Around here it is still on the listings. I was most interested in the scientific community's reaction Benoit Mandelbrot's discovery. At the time he presented, it was widely believed that the Mandelbrot fractal was an computer "artifact". If anyone bothered to read more than the first page of the paper they'd see that it is a graph of the bailout of a recursive algorithm. What does belief have to do with science, especially math in science? By the fractal patterns shown clearly had nothing on JOT's movies. Nor any mention of Fractint, which could have deserved at least a sentence, or a cameo. They must have spent 5 minutes of it on this *esoteric* "fractal pattern clothing". Roger
