Kim, It is difficult enough to make these things work at all; including backward compatibility forever (like for DOS, 16 bit apps) just makes it more difficult and error prone. Since very few people use legacy software, it simply isn't worth the effort, so thinks the powers that be. My understanding now is that Vista will not do DOS or 16 bit apps at all. We are on the verge of a 64 bit world! .
