FOTD 03-06-07 (Half Seahorse Deep [5])
FOTD -- June 03, 2007 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is named "Half Seahorse Deep". I gave it this name because the parent fractal was created by the formula Z^(1.5)+C iterated 5 levels down the logarithmic ladder, and the image is located deep in the rather fully formed Seahorse Valley of this parent. I rated the image at a 5, a rating that says 'average'. The image is somewhat better than yesterday's production, but falls far short of past FOTD high points. The render time of 11 minutes on the P2000 would stretch to near an hour on the old P200 machine. My suggestion is to take the simplest route to fractal satisfaction by viewing the completed image on the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> Very warm and humid weather here at Fractal Central on Saturday was slightly relieved by a heavy shower at 6pm. The fractal cats watched from a window and wondered where all the water was coming from. I was kept rather busy by commercial work, though I did find enough spare time for a brief trip to fractal land. The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and I hear there's a new world coming.
