Fractint's status
Greetings all! I've just subscribed to the list and am wondering what Fractint's status is as far as Windows Vista goes. I've watched the program's webpage over the years and there doesn't seem to have been much movement from V 20.0 for quite a while. I used earlier versions of Fractint quite a bit back in the day, when DOS was still a major player. I've not tried using the program at all under 'recent' (i.e., Win95/98, 2000, XP and now Vista). Is there a version that will work under Vista? I would really like to start using the software again! Thanks!! Bob Lester

Sounds like yet another reason not to use Windows! XFractint works for me with Linux, and I understand that DOS Fractint works Linux using QEMU. I used to run DOS Fractint under W98, don't recall trying it with XP. You might check the status of WinFract.
