FOTD 21-11-07 (Zoom Out to Windmills [No Rating])
FOTD -- November 21, 2007 (No Rating) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's FOTD is a simple outzoom from yesterday's image. I had to post it because I think it is somewhat of an improvement over yesterday's version. Of course, there is no way I could rate a near-repeat, so I let it go un-rated. When I did the outzoom, the image reminded me of a whole wind- mill farm, thus the rather cryptic name "Zoom Out to Windmills" The calculation time of 1-1/2 minutes is quite fast considering the maxiter of the image and how much of it consists of 'inside' stuff. Yes, a good part of today's image, as well as most of yesterday's, is made of 'bof60' inside fill. To see just how much, change the inside option to 'numb'. Now a word about the missing characters in some of my parameter files. I think this happens when I cannot connect to Mindspring and must post the FOTD through AOL, which appears to send email in html format. And there is a bigger problem. The philofrac- tal list rejects html format. This explains the missing philo- fractal postings. Finally, if the finished image is unavailable on the FOTD web site, give Paul a chance to render and post the image, and try again later. The web site may be accessed at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> Continued dull, dreary, damp and chilly weather prevailed here at Fractal Central all day Tuesday. The rain ended at daybreak, but then a fog set in, which covered the area for the rest of the day. Due to the dampness, the near-normal temperature of 41F 5C seemed much colder. The fractal cats must have agreed, for they hugged the radiators most of the day. My day was average, with nothing of unusual importance to make it memorable. The next in the unending line of FOTD images will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and, (SQOTD), no one has ever seen an atom, so how do we know they exist?
