Re: [Fractint] August 5, 2013: Anti-Minibrot
. Anyone have trouble rendering the August 5, 2013: Anti-Minibrot FOTD? I want to try zoom animation, but all I get is a black screen. The TAB screen shows it is working, but I see nothing. Baffling. .

Just tried it without any problems. And as you can see by Hal Lane's web page and the automated site of Richard, they too were able to render the image without difficulty. Sincerely, P.N.L.
Sorry to interject but I need help and I don't know where to post an original question. Help?

Do you mean just reply here with a new subject? My question is simply this: I'm running XP. Recently both Fractint Dos and Win can no longer save files to disk (Fractint can't create file *.gif). All my other (WP, etc) programs have no trouble. What's up with this?

You could have included it within your last post. :-)
Or, just start a new "Subject".

It has to do with your machine's video card and what it supports. If you wish to run FractInt on that environment, you have at least two options: • Use a video card that will handle VESA modes under Win-XP. • Run the DOS-Box emulator (or something equivalent). I keep an old Win-98 machine around such things. Though I have used DOS-Box under Vista and Win-7, just to test the ability of FractInt. Sincerely, P.N.L.
Thanks. I am on an ASUS notebook and made the mistake recently of "updating" my drivers. I'll work it out. Thanks again. Aloha
