My April 9th, 2014 entry has an image, CRITDEMO.jpg, where I used Fractint's Parameter Explorer / Evolver to show a grid of M-sets perturbed away from the critical value of (0,0). Jim's FOTD is a zoom into a perturbed M-set. Jim's perturbed M-set and an interesting sequence of zooms into it are shown in the center column of April 9th's entries. The CRITDEMO.jpg image is on the row with F140409.gif at the far left. The real-perturbing value varies left to right in the image; the imaginary-perturbing value varies up and down. When I look closely at that image, I think that the center fractal did not have the non-perturbing critical value of (0,0).
