I guess I should have checked back a few more years before renaming to a #2 version, since it appears that there are several versions already.
I simply used the version of the formula that was included in the original 1997 par file. I'll rename it JimsCompMand4. Having several versions of the same formula always creates problems. Jim M.

No need to rename the current FOTD's FRM posting to something else. It is actually correct compared to some of the real old postings. It appears that the FOTD FRMs from more recent years 2001 --> 2003 were incorrectly named. I have repaired and updated the web pages for those, making sure that the images are also using correctly generated versions. I will do an assessment on any posted FOTDs from 2000 on back. Apparently this was caught by Les StClair when he initally started grouping the FRM and PAR postings of you FOTDs. Because what his collections hold do not match what you had originally sent out. Which means that these are the names probably best suited with their associated formulas: JimsCompMand {; Jim Muth z=c=pixel: z=z^p1*(c^(p2-1))+c, |z| <= p3+100 } JimsCompMand2 {; Jim Muth z=c=pixel: z=(-z)^p1*(c^p2)+c, |z| <= p3+100 } JimsCompMand3 {; Jim Muth z=c=pixel: z=z^p1*(c^p2)+c, |z| <= p3+100 } Sincerely, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/

I wouldn't be that jeneral, but I wouldn't mind at all if there was a file called history.frm and another called history.par. The hard part would be optimizing the formula file to avoid duplication, but that's not a necessary optimization with the disk space available for a hundred bucks on boxing day.
