FOTD -- November 16, 2007 (Rating 6.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: It turns out we're still in the Zexpe fractal today, or at least one of the Zexpe fractals, since there are an infinity of them. And we're also still at the fourth level of the logarithmic ladder. Today we check the main-bay side of the southwest branch of what corresponds to Seahorse Valley of the parent fractal, where we find today's strangely realistic scene. I named the image "A Seahorse Named Epsilon" because it lies in a parent whose generating formula is Z^(e)+C. A rated it at a modest 6-1/2, one-half point of which is due to my coloring. The calculation time of 2-1/3 minutes is reasonable. It is equally reasonable to view the image by visiting the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> where it has already been calculated and posted. Heavy rain fell all night Wednesday here at Fractal Central. By the time it ended at 11am Thursday, 3.6 inches or around 90mm of rain had fallen. The rest of Thursday was cloudy and blustery, with a temperature of 45F 7C. A few puddles appeared in the new fractal cellar during the downpour, but nothing like the several inches that used to flood into the old fractal basement during heavy rain. The fractal cats slept through it all. My day was adequate. Hopefully, tomorrow will be the same. The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours at this same internet spot.
