FOTD -- April 05, 2004 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: I'm a bit busy today, so today's discussion will be short. The image is an evaporated scene in the fractal that results when 2 parts of Z^(-7.6) is combined with 4 parts of Z^(-1.4) before (1/C) is added. The scene has been evaporated by raising the escape radius so high that all the points are trapped. The trapped points have been brought to life by rendering them with the inside=bof61 option. I have added 1/C instead of C because fractals with negative exponents of Z are inside out, and 1/C turns fractals inside out again. The parent fractal is quite rich. I might do a bit more exploring in it before moving on. Because of its rich golden yellow, today's image has been named "A Fool's Gold". (That's what they called iron pyrite in the old west.) The rating of a 6 is raised to an overall value of 232 by the short render time of 2-1/2 minutes. Cheered by an extra dollop of tuna, they took their confinement stoically. Today is starting sunny, but the wind is still high. We'll see how things go for the dynamic duo. For me, it's back to work. When the work is finished, the fractal fun will begin. How can I keep up my enthusiasm for fractals? I don't know.
