FOTD 19-10-14 (The Warm Fuzzies [A-6,M-6])
FOTD -- October 19, 2014 (Rating A-6,M-6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is named "The Warm Fuzzies". The term usually refers to pleasant feelings of close friendship, but in today's FOTD it refers to the fuzzy appearance of the image when seen from a distance. The parent fractal was created when I subtracted 3 parts of Z^(-4.9) from 9 parts of Z^(-1.9) on each iteration before adding (1/C). This parent consists of three large circular bays arranged like a clover leaf with a fourth bell-shaped bay attached to the eastern leaf. Today's scene lies near a tiny bud on the north shore line of the eastern clover leaf. Both the art and math rate a 6, since I can see nothing really memorable in the image. The calculation time of 3 minutes borders on slowness. So for peace of mind don't hesitate to check the finished image on one of the web sites. For complete peace, check the finished image at: <http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html> <http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html> <http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/> <http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html> A mix of sun and clouds, a brisk west wind and a temperature of 52F 11C brought a taste of autumn to the Fractal Central area today. The fractal cats enjoyed the conditions from indoors. The only disturbance was in the late morning when Lady Lida leaped from the armchair onto He-man Nicholas, who was sleeping on the floor below her, causing Nicholas to leap up in surprise, give her a mighty hiss and chase her up the hallway. The humans spent the day pondering the world's craziness. The next FOTD will be posted when it is ready and I think the time is proper. Until then, take care, and if one of the current crises leads to the total extinction of mankind, what would be so bad about that? Hmm, just think. You could use add a rating for slowness, then use that with the existing math/art values to calculate a "Worthiness" score? This image doesn't look particularly fuzzy to me, but it's heart is filled with warm colors, so I'll consider it a warm fuzzy! -- David W.
