FOTD -- December 10, 2006 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's fractal was created by combining 10 parts of Z^(0.17) with 1 part of Z^(1.7) and adding C. I named the image "Chrysanthefractal" when it reminded me of a Chrysanthemum. Despite my better instincts, I gave it a rating. I rated it at a perfectly average 5. The parent fractal is little more than a scattering of fractal debris filled with tiny Mandelbrot sets. Today's image lies in one of the smaller bits of this fractal debris. The 'tdis' outside option saves the image from the delete key by adding just enough red and green interest to make the image worth the measly 45 seconds required to calculate it. Brilliant sun and a much milder temperature of 45F 7C brought out the best in the fractal cats on Saturday. Unfortunately, they are not permitted out of the house, so they did not enjoy the splendid weather. They have almost forgotten about going out. It looks like they might be permanent inside cats. My day was slow but not boring. Fractal lady and I are planning on taking a trip back to Old Fractal Central on Sunday to see my sister and the old fractal cats, Thomas and Tippy, who I hear are doing fine and are as lazy as ever. We will probably stay until Tuesday morning. I am not sure whether I will get a chance to post a FOTD from the old place on Monday the 11th or Tuesday the 12th, but the FOTD for Wednesday the 13th will appear on schedule.
