Hmm, I think the way he's sharing them from DropBox, you shouldn't have to sign up for DropBox. Putting a file on DropBox is easy, doesn't require FTP or such. Probably why Albrecht uses it. He links a folder on his computer to a folder in his DropBox, drop a file in his computer's folder and DropBox on his computer puts it in the cloud on his DropBox. david gnome@hawaii.rr.com authenticity, honesty, community ---- James R McKenzie <jimmckenzie@earthlink.net> wrote:

Just found out about DropBox here and have started using it. I'm on XP and did have to sign up to get the DB folder for my desktop. AlohaAlex

There are 2 ways for Albrecht to share a Dropbox folder. I forget which one does which, but one of them shares the folder/link without requiring the recipient to have a DropBox account. The tradeoff is that recipient has only one-way access to the Dropbox. Albrecht has to share it that way, though. The problem with sharing a Dropbox where the recipient has to have a DB account is that the recipient has to have as much DB space available as the amount contained in what's being shared with them ... 2.5GB oughtta be enough for anybody, right? ;-) david gnome@hawaii.rr.com authenticity, honesty, community ---- alex hay <zenjew@hotmail.com> wrote:
