Tony,
Thanks once again for your suggestions. I created a DOS boot disk off of my
WIndows 98 machine and added makefcfg.exe to it. It booted fine and ran makefcfg no problem. It seemed to have no trouble finding the video cards
VESA settings.
Unfortunately, once I rebooted to Windows XP, it still won't run resolutions
higher than 640 x 480. I think the only possibility left is to install something like Partition Magic and create a logical drive formatted in FAT16
or 32 and have Fractint reside there. That might work.
That will work. It doesn't need to be a very big partition, and make it FAT16, not FAT32. DOS cannot read FAT32, but WXP can read FAT16 for accessing your fractal images when you're running WXP. David gnome@hawaii.rr.com
