FOTD 24-12-09 (Pits and Bieces [6])
FOTD -- December 24, 2009 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image turned out quite well considering the whopping 3 minutes or so it took me to find it. It turned out well enough, in fact, that I decided to give it a rating of a 6. The exponent of Z in today's image is 1.77828, which just happens to be the 4th root of 10, not that this makes much difference in the appearance of the image. The fact that the parent fractal was calculated 14 levels up the complex logarithmic hyperspiral with no function applied is far more significant. Most of the effect is created by the color palette, which was actually created by the Fractint program with a single strike of the <enter> key. The name "Pits_and_Bieces" is a slight variation of "Bits and Pieces", which needs no explanation. The only thing left to mention is the very fast 65-second running time of the included parameter file.
