FOTD -- December 14, 2010 (Rating 5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene in a Mandelbrot set that in its depths is starting to morph into a quintic set. The scene is located inside a minibrot on a stem of the star of the period-7 bud on the northwest shore line of the main bay of its Mandelbrot parent. The image is filled with both minibrots and antiminibrots, which are a bit tricky to tell apart at a casual glance. I named the image "Fade-Out" because of the way the upper part of the image appears to fade into the mist. The rating of a 5 is conservative. The actual rating might be closer to a 6. I leave it to the individual fractalist to decide whether the finished product is worth the calculation time of 7 minutes.
