FOTD 17-03-06 (Rating 7)
FOTD -- March 17, 2006 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: For today's FOTD we have a Julia set of the Z^(sqrt(2))+C Mandeloid as it appears on the 52nd floor of the infinite logarithmic skyscraper. The corresponding Mandel point is in the vicinity of a kind of Seahorse Valley. Most of the image consists of a large 'inside' area, which has been brought to life by the 'bof60' inside fill. I did put a bit more effort into coloring the image, so I have decided to give it a name. I have named it "Orange Blossom". One look at the image will tell why I chose this name. The image also deserves a rating, so I have rated it at a 7 -- above average. The render time of 1 minute is unusually fast, and should try the patience of no one. Unfortunately, quite a few modern machines will choke on the Fractint video format. Those with such handicapped units can see the image by downloading it from the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> It remained chilly here at Old Fractal Central on Thursday, but the lighter winds made it feel much warmer than yesterday. The fractal cats must have agreed, for they spent almost two hours lurking in the yard. For me, things continued busy, as they will remain for a few more months. Unless the world ends, the next FOTD will be posted in 24 hours. Until then, take care, and hope for the best.
