I have not explored much East ("elephant") valley, thinking it would be generally lame, as some earlier work suggested a long time ago. Not true! Among other things, it seems to be the only area of the MSET where the "infinite" spirals are NOT! They actually eventually arrive at something, usually a minibrot. And some interesting unique patterns too. I need to check more into this. I dispute the rating of 5 for Jim Muth's FOTD 06_07_31 ; I would give it more. The colors could be better however IMHO. I did a zoom-in to the target image, only thing changed is the color and I used logmap=2 (as always). Loox much better.
