FOTD -- July 08, 2014 (Rating A-7,M-8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image is a scene in the parent fractal that results when the expression Z^(1.7)+C is iterated 28 levels up the complex logarithmic hyperspiral. This parent consists of a large twisted fractal with a large s-shaped bay, the whole thing surrounded by disconnected minibrot-like smaller fractals. Today's scene lies in a blunt valley in one of these small fractals well southeast of the main body of the fractal complex. I named the image "A Skewed Outlook" when I noticed the totally different appearance of the left and right halves of the scene. This unexpected difference earns the math part of the image a rating of an 8. The art part rates a 7, which is above average but nothing to brag about. The calculation time of 5-3/4 minutes might start to drag for those fractalists with other tasks to attend to. Here is where the web sites dash to the rescue. The temperature of 91F 33C kept things on the lazy side, especially among the fractal cats, who spent most of the afternoon stretched out in the living room. The humans, unable to take it as easy, spent the day doing the necessary things as slowly as possible. The day came to a lively end at 7pm with a heavy thunder storm.
