Classic FOTD ??-??-???? (Star for the Ages [8])
CLASSIC FOTD -- ??????? ??, ???? (Rating 8) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's fractal image is a lost blast from the past, which originally appeared as a FOTD several years ago. The problem is that I have lost track of the original discussion that goes with it, as well as the date on which it originally appeared. This is the same problem that still plagues my long-awaited but never- delivered FOTD-CD. Since the image really is quite striking, and I have lost track of the original name, I gave it the new name "Star for the Ages". The rating of an excellent 8 makes the 14-minute render time barely worth the effort. And as always, the finished GIF image is available on Paul's web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> The weather has been uneventful here at Fractal Central the past few days. The fractal cats have reasonably well behaved. The work backlog is still shrinking, and all else is well. Until tomorrow's Classic FOTD, take care. Take a look at this one, and see if they are similar enough: Zodiac { ; Fractal of the day, 11-08-99 ; t=0:13:12.57 on a p233, 640x480 reset=1960 type=formula formulafile=fotdv3.frm formulaname=MandelbrotMix4 function=ident passes=1 center-mag=+1.664072112263802/+0.3928892632790632/2.\ 145788e+007/1/-5 params=0.01/100/-100/1/-0.9897/0 float=y maxiter=12000 bailout=25 inside=0 logmap=267 symmetry=none periodicity=10 colors=000DGNCHKBIK<6>6IS6IT7IU<10>CHdCHeDHeDHe<16>K\ Fa<5>mkw<28>6Fg<10>`Ztm`u<3>zgyzkzzgrwfkrecmeX<6>EaN\ <13>SW4<18>2ju<8>oajn`io_hp_hqZg<3>ubevcewcdwcc<13>w\ cXwcWwcWwcW<78>wcU }
This is the same problem that still plagues my long-awaited but never- delivered FOTD-CD.
When I originally made the suggestion for you to create and publish an FOTD CD (and you decided to do so after a small survey), I could not imagine it would be that difficult for you to complete such a project. But I have previously offered my assistance, and now do so again, if that will produce a final product that you can distribute to whomever and however you wish. Just send me the information on what you need accomplished, or any missing data, notes, etc. needed, and I will do what I can for you in a very short time period. I just realised this was the Classic image you re-posted just seven days ago. It must be one of your most favorite of all time. :-) Later, P.N.L. ------------------------------------------------- http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/PNL_Fractals.html http://www.Nahee.com/Fractals/
