FOTD -- May 20, 2009 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Fractals are candy for the eyes, which is what I named today's image. (Of course, fractals can also make a kind of music, though I have yet to hear any fractal 'music' that I would like to listen to a second or third time.) Today's image is evaporated, which means the bailout radius is so large that no points at all ever escape, a thing that is possible only with fractals created from negative exponents of Z. But an evaporated image does not necessarily mean a blank screen. When a fractal evaporates, it leaves a ghost behind that can be made manifest with certain active inside fills, such as the 'bof61' fill of today's image. I rated the image at a 6 -- an adequate rating. The calculation time of 1-3/4 minutes is quite brief, almost as brief as the time required to visit the FOTD web site at: <http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html> and enjoy the completed image posted there. Wall-to-wall sunshine and a temperature of 73F 23C made Tuesday all that could be asked for here at Fractal Central.
